“Excuse Me ……. Are You Joice Joy”

“Mission Failed Successfully”

There are some moments in life that arrive without warning, without preparation, and without even asking permission to enter our hearts. Moments that begin like an ordinary day but somehow stay in our minds for weeks, maybe even forever. I think life is beautiful because of such moments. We walk into them unknowingly, and later we sit alone smiling at memories that lasted only a few minutes. These days, whenever I get an off day from work, I usually go for long walks. Maybe it is because walking feels peaceful. Maybe it is because life becomes lighter when your legs move and your mind slows down. Most of the time, I go with some of my friends here. We walk through quiet roads, speak about random things, laugh at silly jokes, and finally end up at a small coffee shop before heading back home. It has slowly become a routine — one of those little things that makes life feel less lonely in a foreign country.

But last week, one ordinary walk turned into something I never expected. At this age, almost everyone has a matrimony profile. Families ask questions, friends tease us, and somewhere inside, even we begin to wonder if there is someone written for us in this big world. I too had made a profile in Chavara Matrimony. Sometimes out of curiosity, sometimes out of hope, I go through profiles. One evening, I saw a profile that felt simple and genuine. There was something peaceful about it. I sent a request and forgot about it, though somewhere inside me, I was quietly waiting for a reply. Now let us go back to that walk. There is a park near where I stay, and after every walk, I usually sit on the same bench. It has somehow become “my place.” I sit there with my phone or notebook and jot down thoughts for my blog — random feelings, memories, dreams, worries, everything. That evening too, I was sitting there alone, watching people pass by while the cold breeze touched the trees softly. And then I heard a voice.

“Are you Joice Joy?”For a second, I looked around wondering if someone else was standing nearby. When I realized she was speaking to me, I smiled awkwardly and said yes. Then she asked, “Have you seen me anywhere?”I looked at her face carefully. She looked familiar, but I couldn’t understand from where. Before I could think too much, she smiled — that calm, cute smile — and said, “Chavara Matrimony.”Honestly, at that moment, my heart forgot how to behave normally. Not because something dramatic happened, but because life suddenly felt like a movie scene I never thought would happen to me. Out of all the parks, out of all the places, out of all the evenings… how does someone meet like this?I remember feeling embarrassed immediately. Not in a bad way. Just the kind of embarrassment when life catches you off guard. I didn’t know whether to laugh, look away, or simply disappear from the bench for five minutes. But she laughed softly, and somehow that small laugh made everything feel comfortable. We spoke only for a little while. Simple conversations. Nothing big. Nothing extraordinary. Yet sometimes it is strange how the smallest conversations stay longer in the heart than long speeches. She was in Bolton with her cousins that day. A cute nurse with kind eyes and a smile that carried warmth so naturally. There was something peaceful about the way she spoke. No force, no pretending, just comfort.

And for a few seconds, I think I was completely lost. Not because I suddenly fell in love after one meeting. No. Life is not that simple. But there are some people who walk into your day and unknowingly leave behind a softness in your thoughts. That is exactly what happened. It was her smile. Those eyes. That unexpectedly beautiful moment.Even now, when I think about it, I laugh to myself. Imagine sending a matrimony request online and then meeting the same person unexpectedly in a park near your home. If someone had narrated this story to me earlier, I would have probably smiled and called it cinema. But life sometimes writes scenes better than movies. After she left, I sat there for some more time pretending to write something for my blog, but honestly my thoughts were no longer inside the notebook. My mind kept replaying that small conversation again and again. The way she asked my name. The way she smiled after saying “Chavara Matrimony.” The way the evening suddenly felt brighter without any reason.Sometimes attraction is loud. Sometimes it is dramatic. But sometimes it arrives quietly.Like peace.Like comfort.

Like a small smile in the middle of an ordinary evening. And maybe that is what made this moment beautiful for me. There was innocence in it. No expectations. No promises. Just two strangers who had already crossed paths digitally meeting unexpectedly in real life under the evening sky.Life abroad often feels rushed. We work, we stress, we overthink, and somewhere in between we forget how beautiful simple human moments can be. But that evening reminded me of something — maybe the heart still becomes soft for the right kind of smile.I do not know where this story will go.Maybe nowhere.Maybe somewhere beautiful. The request is still pending, and honestly, maybe it is better to slow down before my imagination writes an entire future already. Ooo wait wait… where are you heading, Joice? Let her accept the request first, and then maybe the heart can think a little more. But still…There is something magical about unexpected meetings.Because no matter how many people we meet in life, there will always be certain moments that stay untouched inside us. Not because they changed our lives completely, but because they made our hearts feel alive for a little while. And maybe years later, when life becomes busy and memories become old, I might still remember one quiet evening in a park… a familiar face, a cute smile, and one unexpected question:

“Are you Joice Joy?”
